The court of appeals held that the Eighth Amendment did not bar Chris Joshua Meadoux’s sentence of life without parole for a capital crime that he committed at the age of sixteen. We affirm.

On October 3, 2007, a Bexar County grand jury returned an indictment charging Meadoux with capital murder under Texas Penal Code § 19.03(a)(2) and (a)(7).1 On August 4, 2008, the State brought Mea-doux to trial under the indictment.
