The petitioner alleges, in substance, that on March 1, 1866, he became seised and possessed by purchase of the lot of land in question, and that, in November following, the Boston and Worcester Railroad Corporation, acting under legislative authority and the public right of eminent domain, took a portion of this land, to wit, the easterly portion, bounded on Marginal Street, the whole lot having a front of seventy feet only on that street, and the only access being from that front.
