MONTGOMERY, Chief Judge.

On October 24, 1994, Stanley Nick Ehnes (Defendant) was charged with assault of a law enforcement officer in the second degree. § 565.082.1(1).1 Defendant applied for and received representation from the local public defender. After Defendant’s mother posted a $2,000 cash bond for him, the public defender withdrew, noting that Defendant was no longer qualified for her services.
