This action is brought to recover damages for personal injuries sustained by plaintiff by reason of the negligence, as the plaintiff claims, of the defendant. On the 23d April, 1886, the plaintiff, with two other persons, was riding in a carriage westerly along Centre street in the village of Oneonta.
