{¶ 1} This is an appeal from summary judgments that the court of common pleas granted for the defendants on multiple claims for relief in an action brought by a police officer, Michael McDonald, after he was suspended from his position and subsequently discharged for misconduct. The principal issue on appeal is whether McDonald was denied his due process right to a hearing when his salary was discontinued without a hearing after he had previously been suspended with pay. The trial court held that a subsequent arbitration proceeding that ordered McDonald restored to his position…
