*952Contrary to the defendant’s contention, he was not denied the effective assistance of counsel. The defendant has not demonstrated that his trial attorney’s representation “fell below an objective standard of reasonableness” (Strickland v Washington, 466 US 668, 688 [1984]), or that his attorney failed to provide him with “meaningful representation” (People v Baldi, 54 NY2d 137, 147 [1981]).
