The appellees claim to be the owners of a valid and subsisting oil, gas and mineral lease covering 10 acres on the south side of the southeast quarter of the northeast quarter of Section 31, Township 1 North, Range 13 East, in Jasper County, Mississippi. The Hassie Hunt Trust was the undisputed owner of valid and subsisting oil, gas and mineral leases on the north 30 acres of the said 40-acre tract, and also asserted ownership superior to that of the appellees of the leasehold estate in the minerals in the aforesaid 10 acres of said 40-acre tract.
