Cedric Richard Johnson was convicted on a guilty plea of armed robbery, see § 943.32, STATS., and was sentenced to an indeterminate prison term of fifteen years. He appeals from the judgment and the trial court's denial without a hearing of his motion for postconviction relief. He raises two issues. First, he contends that the trial court's colloquy with him at the plea hearing did not establish that he understood the nature of the crime to which he was pleading guilty.
