OPINION

VAUGHN, Resident Judge.

The plaintiffs have filed a motion for a new trial after a jury returned a verdict in their favor, but only in the amount of $1200. Plaintiff Thomas W. Putney’s1 claim was one for personal injuries caused by an alleged assault committed upon him by the defendant. His wife, Mary Putney, asserted a claim for loss of consortium. The defendant, Henry W. Rosin, denied that he had assaulted Mr. Putney and disputed the nature and extent of the injuries claimed by Mr. Putney.
