The first question to be disposed of is that which arises upon the complainant’s contention that the order of removal from the state court, made by the circuit court of the United States, upon the petition of the defendant, was unauthorized and void, for the reason that the matter in controversy did not exceed in value the sum of $2,000, exclusive of interests and costs. .
