At 12:30 P.M., on December 27, 1968, an object came through the window of a bedroom in the home of Willie and Burnette Taylor at 5029 West Monroe Street, Chicago. The object exploded and caused a fire. Five persons were in the home at the time — defendant’s wife, Burnette Taylor; his stepdaughter, Faye Wright; his stepsons, Orgee Wright and Raymond Smith; and Raymond’s wife, Gloria Jean Smith.
