On the 8th day of September, 1920, the plaintiff, who was then about seven years of age, was playing on the sidewalk on the northerly side of Forty-ninth street in front of No. 435, and an automobile truck owned by the defendant Talbot and operated by one Hunt, employed and paid by him as chauffeur to operate it, came diagonally across the street from the other side, mounted the curb and ran over both of her arms, necessitating their amputation at or near the elbows.
