A Fayette County jury found Mustafa Mahdi guilty but mentally ill of the malice murder of John David Quincy III and guilty of possession of a knife during the commission of a felony.1 In 1 Quincy was stabbed to death on March 24, 2014. On April 4, 2014, a Fayette County grand jury indicted Mahdi for malice murder (Count 2), felony murder (Count 1), aggravated assault (Count 3), and possession of a knife during the commission of a felony (Count 4).
