Plaintiff, Suzette Mann Walker (“plaintiff” or “Walker”), filed suit in the Circuit Court of Haywood County against First State Bank (“defendant” or “bank”) seeking compensatory and punitive damages. She alleged that the bank caused her serious financial losses as a result of its failure to inform her of the full and true facts concerning the financial condition of her brother, Bobby Mann, a long-time customer and depositor of the bank.
