MEMORANDUM AND ORDER

MORAN, District Judge.

Larry Patterson, an inmate at Danville Correctional Center, serving a 30-year sentence for murder, petitions this court for a writ of habeas corpus under 28 U.S.C. § 2254. Petitioner claims his conviction was constitutionally infirm because (1) he was denied effective assistance of counsel, and (2) the state’s attorney knowingly relied on perjured testimony to convict him.
