Ou April 29, 1946, appellee entered into a written contract with appellant by which he agreed to do certain work on appellant’s house at 700 Wolfe Street, Little Eock, Arkansas, and to furnish all labor and materials, for a price of $1,000 to be paid $500 on completion of job and $500 as soon as arrangements could be made for a loan. Appellee completed the work promptly, demanded payment, but same was refused. He thereafter, on June 8, 1946, brought suit against appellant, alleging said facts, to recover a judgment against him for $1,000. Appellant answered on June 24, 1946,…
