I. INTRODUCTION

Eladio Travieso ["appellant" or "Travieso"] appeals the Novem ber 12, 1996 order of the Territorial Court extending for an additional two years a 1994 restraining order issued against appellant. The order, issued under the domestic violence chapter of the Virgin Islands Code, prohibits appellant from having contact with Iris Lopez ["appellee" or "Lopez"]. Appellant also challenges the Territorial Court's order prohibiting appellant from possessing a firearm for the duration of the restraining order pursuant to 18 U.S.C. § 922(g).
