In this employment contract dispute, Diane Baker sued the McIntosh County Board of Education (the “Board”) for injunctive relief and damages, contending that it failed to properly serve her with a notice of nonrenewal of her contract in the 2001-2002 school year, which entitles her to a consecutive contract for the 2002-2003 school year as a matter of law. The Board filed a motion to dismiss for failure to state a claim, arguing that as a nontenured professional, Baker received the notice to which she was entitled.
