The Shelton Street Railway Company was created by the legislature in 1893 (Special Laws of 1893, p. 830) and authorized to construct a street railway in the towns of Derby, Huntington, Milford, Stratford and Bridgeport, to be operated, if so desired, by electricity.
Section 8 of Chap. 169 of the Public Acts of 1893 provides; that “ no street railway shall hereafter be built or extended! from one town to any other town in the public highways, so! as to parallel any other street railway or steam railroad,, unless . . . such railway shall have applied to the Superior¡ Court or any judge thereof,…
