Appeal from Criminal District Court, Parish of Orleans; Prank D. Chrétien, Judge. P. B. Peralta was indicted, for violation of Acts 1902, p. 42, No. 34, making it an offense to willfully neglect to provide for the maintenance of any person’s wife or minor children, and gave a bond conditioned to pay a certain sum weekly, and was after-wards adjudged guilty of contempt for 'the failure to make such payment, and appeals.

The defendant was indicted for violation of the provisions of Act No. 34, p. 42, of 1902, entitled “An act making it a misdemeanor to desert or willfully neglect to provide for the support and maintenance by any person of his wife or minor children in destitute or necessitous circumstances and to provide a penalty therefor.”

On the 15th of September, 1905, he was found “guilty,” and ordered to pay to his wife weekly the sum of $9 for a period of one year from and after the 18th of September, 1905, the said sum to be paid to the criminal sheriff for his wife, and to furnish bond in the sum of…
