SHIVERS, Judge.

Appellant Warren V. King appeals an order entered by the trial court directing him to pay over $16,000 in medical expenses incurred by the parties’ minor child. We reverse the trial court’s order and remand for further proceedings.

Appellant and appellee originally married in 1965 and had two children, one of whom is currently a minor. During the last seven years of the marriage, appellant worked as a barge superintendent in the Arab state of Bahrain, earning an annual tax-free salary of $80,000.
