Eric Chagolla has sued the City of Chicago and eight Chicago police officers, all of whom were part of the Chicago Police Department’s Special Operations Section. Chagolla alleges that on August 12, 2005, he was outside the front door of his apartment on the near northwest side of Chicago when the eight officers appeared and, after threatening him at gunpoint, entered and ransacked his apartment, stealing money that he kept there.
