DEADY, District Judge.

William Spenser, an alien, applies to “be admitted to become a citizen of the United States” under section 2165, Rev. St. From the evidence it satisfactorily appears that he duly declared’ his intentions and has continuously resided in the United States — the state of Oregon — at least -since 1870.
