The papers, upon the application for an order of interpleader, show that on December 20, 1876, at the city of New York, one F. Goll, a depositor with the (defendant, drew his bank check directed to it, *87whereby he required it to pay to W. W. Coomes, or order, the sum of §180 for value received.
The check was given by the drawer Groll to the payee Coomes.
The bank certified the check, and it is now sued upon its certification. The bank raises no question about its liability, and asks leave to pay the amount of the check into court, and be absolved from further liability, upon the ground that…
