Appellee, Mary E. Patton, was originally the beneficiary in the policy issued by the .National Casualty Company to William Patton on April 18, 1917, which policy was later underwritten by the appellant, the Standard Accident Insurance Company. The policy insured William Patton against death by accident, and agreed and promised to pay Mary E. IPatton, beneficiary, in case of the death of William Patton by accident sustained solely through external, violent and accidental means, the sum of $400.00; and further agreed that after the payment…
