This is a suit to recover an amount due on a promissory note plus interest and attorney fees.

The note sued upon was executed on April 14,1977, in the amount of $40,000 with 10 percent per annum interest, payable on October 14,1977. It was the sixth in a series of renewal notes on a note executed on February 19, 1974, for $50,000 bearing an 8 percent per annum interest rate, payable quarterly.
