On the 30th of April, 1892, at an extraordinary session of the legislature called for that purpose, an act was passed to organize the senate districts and to apportion the members of assembly. By that act there were allotted to the county of Monroe three members of assembly. The act required that the board of supervisors of counties which were entitled to more than one member should meet on the third Tuesday of July, and divide their respective counties into as many assembly districts as they were entitled to.
