On the 8th day of April, 1913, there was a street car strike in the city of Buffalo. For several days prior to that time there had been an almost total cessation of street car traffic and much disorder in consequence thereof. On the evening of the eighth, Mr. Justice Brown called for aid upon the commanding officer of the fourth brigade stationed in Buffalo; and it must be assumed the call was made upon sufficient evidence to satisfy him that the facts stated in the order were true.
