As a result of a tragic event that occurred on March 15, 2003, the defendant, Kasandra Doyle, was the subject of an indictment charging her with three counts of involuntary manslaughter (G. L. c. 265, § 13), and three counts of motor vehicle homicide by operating a motor vehicle recklessly or negligently (G. L. c. 90, § 24G[¿>]). After a jury trial, the defendant was acquitted of the involuntary manslaughter charges but convicted of the three counts of motor vehicle homicide.
