THOMSEN, Chief Judge.

This action on three identical, unusual insurance policies is before the court on motions for judgment filed by plaintiffs and defendants respectively after a jury answered several questions of fact submitted to it but declared itself unable to agree on the answer to one of the questions.

Among other coverages, the policies insure against explosion, and against direct loss to electrical equipment or devices resulting from any artificial electrical disturbance immediately preceding and causing such explosion, provided the direct loss caused by electricity and ensuing…
