STANIFORTH, J.

Plaintiff Hartman was induced by false representations, made to him by Donald McFarlin, to purchase a Shell Oil station located on the southeast corner of the intersection of Pomerado and Poway Roads in Poway, California.

McFarlin told Hartman he was the only Shell employee Hartman was supposed to deal with. He said, “As far as you are concerned, I am Shell Oil Company.” In response to Hartman’s expressed concern about the age and small size of the station contemplated to be purchased, McFarlin told Hartman, Shell Oil Company would either expand the old existing Shell Oil…
