HOEVELER, District Judge.

This cause is before the Court on cross-motions for summary judgment in the above-styled action for benefits under a decedent’s Serviceman’s Group Life Insurance Policy.

I. Factual Background

The pertinent facts are undisputed. The Plaintiff, Gene Lanier, is the step-father of the decedent Daniel Howard Traub, who brings this suit against decedent’s natural father, Ellis Traub, and against the Prudential Insurance Company of America (Prudential).
