Defendant-appellant James Callender appeals from his jury conviction of assault with intent to commit sexual abuse causing bodily injury in violation of Iowa Code section 709.11 (1987).

Defendant was charged with first-degree kidnapping in violation of Iowa Code section 710.1(3) and two counts of third-degree sexual abuse in violation of Iowa Code section 709.4(1) based upon the victim’s contention that on December 11, 1986, defendant confined her in his car and forced her to have sexual intercourse on two occasions.
