FREAR, O.J.

This is an action by tbe assignee of a claim of one Ane Paikalani against tbe guardian of one Kumubonua, a minor, for the-support, maintenance, clothing and care of tbe minor for five years beginning January 1, 1895. Tbe action was for $1,000.. Tbe jury rendered a verdict for $250.

Tbe plaintiff introduced testimony to show that Ane Paikalani took tbe minor at tbe time of bis foster-fathePs death and bad charge of him for five years, and that sbe bad assigned her elaim to tbe plaintiff.
