I. PROCEDURAL BACKGROUND
The Appellants (hereinafter “Defendants”) were convicted after jury trial in the District of Puerto Rico of the offenses of conspiracy to distribute cocaine, at tempting to distribute cocaine, both in violation of 21 U.S.C. §§ 846 and 841(a)(1), and of carrying firearms during and in relation to the commission of a drug trafficking crime in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 924(c)(1)(A). Defendants Villafane-Jimenez (hereinafter “Villafane”) and Rodriguez-Nichols (hereinafter “Rodriguez”) were each sentenced to prison terms totaling 295 months. Defendant Pena-Martinez…
