Sarah A. Fleming recovered a judgment against Holmes Messier before one of the justices of the peace of Monmouth county, for one quarter’s rent, from October 1st, 1872, to January 1st, 1873, due on a lease under seal, executed by her to said Messier. This judgment was taken by appeal to the Monmouth Pleas, and there affirmed. On the trial below, Messier offered to put in evidence two deeds of the leased premises: first, a deed made by virtue of proceedings on foreclosure, by the sheriff of Monmouth county to the executors of Daniel H.…
