The four appellants were convicted and sentenced in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas for crimes relating to their roles in a Texas drug distribution conspiracy. They timely appealed.

Investigations in early 2006 revealed that the appellants and others had formed a drug conspiracy involving methamphetamine distribution and transportation, mostly from Fort Worth, where the conspiracy was based, to points in West Texas.
