Rees, J.:

In this criminal case, defendant Earney R. Duckett was found guilty of indecent liberties with a child, a class C felony, (K.S.A. 1987 Supp. 21-3503) and sentenced to a term of 4 to 20 years. The imposed sentence’s minimum is one year more than the statutory minimum and its maximum is the statutory maximum (K.S.A. 1987 Supp. 21-4501[c]).

Defendant was adjudged guilty upon the trial court’s acceptance of his guilty plea on April 13, 1987. Imposition of sentence was pronounced on May 26, 1987. The adjudication and sentence imposition were memorialized by a journal entry filed June 1,…
