The policy of insurance made the foundation of this action was issued by the St. Louis Mutual Life Insurance Company on the 16th day of August, 1867. The contract it evidences is that in consideration of the sum of $690.60 in hand paid, and an annual premium of the same amount to be paid on the 16th day of August in each and every succeeding year for nine years, said company assured the life of I.
