Reversing.

Greorge W. Bales was elected sheriff of Daviess county, and qualified at the beginning of the year 1918. and served until the end of the year 1921. He executed such bonds as the law requires with the American Surety Company of New York as surety thereon. At the October term of the fiscal court in the years 1918,1919, 1920, and 1921, a commissioner was appointed by that court to make settlement with the sheriff. These settlements were reported to the fiscal court, where they were approved and filed in the county court, and there likewise approved…
