MEMORANDUM OPINION AND ORDER DENYING MOTION TO ABSTAIN PURSUANT TO BANKRUPTCY CODE § 305(a)

Pending before the court is a motion by the Ad Hoc Committee of Bondholders (“Ad Hoc Committee” or “Bondholders”) for the Court to abstain in the chapter 11 case of Monitor Oil, PLC (“PLC”) pursuant to 11 U.S.C. § 305(a)(1). (ECF Doc. #47.) Norsk Tillitsmann ASA (“Bond Trustee”), the bond trustee of a $50 million issue of PLC bonds, filed a joinder supporting the Ad Hoc Committee’s motion. (ECF Doc. # 84.)
