In Cause No. 13-97-335-CR, 1 a jury found appellant, Valentin Moreno, Jr., guilty of the offense of capital murder 2 and assessed his punishment at life imprisonment. The jury also found appellant guilty of the offense of attempted capital murder in Cause No. 13-97-336-CR 3 and assessed his punishment at life imprisonment and a $10,000 fine.
