This bankruptcy appeal is the most recent episode in seven years of litigation involving Frank and Christina Reed and their former mortgage loan servicer, GMAC Mortgage, LLC (“GMACM”). In 2012, GMACM, along with approximately 50 affiliated entities, filed chapter 11 bankruptcy petitions. The Reeds filed claims in the bankruptcy proceeding based on previous state court litigation between GMACM and the Reeds, and the Bankruptcy Court ultimately allowed some, but not all, of their claimed damages.
