State v. Weldon
Court of Appeals of North Carolina
1Opinion of the Court
ZACHARY, Judge.
*151 Dominique Rasheed Weldon ("defendant") appeals from judgment entered on his conviction for possession of a firearm by a felon. Defendant argues that the trial court erred when it (1) admitted lay opinion testimony identifying defendant in a surveillance video, *686 (2) permitted testimony in violation of Rules 404(b) and 403 of the North Carolina Rules of Evidence, and (3) determined that defendant's prior federal conviction of unlawful possession of a firearm was substantially similar to his current North Carolina conviction. For the reasons explained herein, we find no error.
