The appellant, James Whitaker, filed a claim for workers’ compensation on January 26, 1981, alleging disability as of April 18, 1980, due to byssinosis. The appellee employer filed its report of injury or occupational disease on March 5, 1981, indicating that it was first informed of the alleged injury on February 26, 1981, and its notice to controvert payment of compensation on March 18, 1981.
