Harris, J.:
The plaintiff in error was indicted, in the circuit court of Clarke county, for stealing certain slaves. The offense was alleged to have been committed in the county of Clarke. The plaintiff in error plead not guilty, and the cause was submitted to the jury on this issue. Several objections were made to the admissibility of testimony, by the counsel for plaintiff in error, in the progress of the trial, which were overruled by the court, .and exceptions taken and máde part of the record, which will be hereafter noticed.
