Harold Lee Sturdevant, Jr., appeals from an order of the district court overruling his motion for discharge of lump-sum alimony. For the reasons set forth below, we affirm.

STATEMENT OF FACTS

Harold Lee Sturdevant, Jr. (Lee), and Nancy Sturdevant were separated by decree on November 2,1988. Initially, before their separation, both Lee and Nancy lived in Papillion, Nebraska. In June 1987, Lee, an officer in the U.S. Air Force, was transferred to Okinawa, Japan, and at that time, Nancy and the parties’ two children accompanied him. Before leaving the United States,…
