FEINBERG, Circuit Judge:
This is an appeal from an interlocutory decree in admiralty of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York, George Rosling, J., ordering the sale of the motor-vessel “Effort.” The decree was entered in an action brought by libelant 1 Geraldine C. Ridings to foreclose a mortgage on the vessel. 46 U.S.C. § 911 et seq. The case comes to this court on a confusing record after a trial which the judge described as “fairly long and immeasurably complicated.” For reasons given below, we reverse and remand.
