ELLIS, Judge:

Plaintiffs herein are seeking to cancel an oil gas and mineral lease held by Humble Oil and Refining Company and covering over 14,000 acres of land in Assumption and St. James Parishes. Plaintiff, Hugh A. Hawthorne, purchased the said property on May 6, 1965, and on June 8, 1965, conveyed an undivided 3% interest in all of the property to plaintiff, Peter E. DesJardins. After a formal demand was made for the cancellation of the lease, and such demand refused by defendant, this suit was instituted on August 24, 1965.
