SHANGLER, Judge.
The defendant was convicted by the court of the second degree murder of Robert Dennis, an infant of 18 months, and was sentenced to a term of imprisonment for 15 years.
At the time of the fatality and before, the defendant had been living with Shirley Dennis and her two children, Carol and Robert. The defendant attended them while she worked the graveyard shift at a local factory. Ms. Dennis was at work in the early morning of February 1, 1973, when the defendant appeared at the Richards-Gebaur Air Force Base Emergency Room with the boy Robert.
